I met a friend for coffee at a local bakery a while ago where I discovered this spicy blend of cinnamon, cayenne, ginger and clove available at the cream and sugar station. I fell in love instantly. And while I don’t know the exact proportions used by local favorite, Corina Bakery, I played around with what made sense to me as soon as I got home.
As I move away from sweet and creamy additions, I find that spiced coffee has my number. Personally, I don’t add sweetener. Just a bit of spice and a bit of heavy cream, and I’m on my way.
Combine the spices together and store in preferred container. (I like to save empty spice jars for needs like these)
Aztec Spiced Coffee
1 cup of brewed coffee
1/2 tsp of Aztec Spice Blend
Optional: heavy cream or coconut milk, pure/unrefined sweeteners such as honey or coconut palm sugar, if desired.
Combine ingredients with a spoon or frother, drink warm.
Wanna take this to the next level?
Add this to my Golden Milk Latte recipe. It’s way good.
