The Best Thing I Ever Ate is back this week with a great blogger to highlight: Taylor Made It Paleo! Taylor is so much fun—seriously. I challenge you to read one of her posts and not have a smile on your face afterwards. But more than that, she’s a pretty darn good Paleo cook with an eye for treats and creative breakfast ideas. I know I could use more of those in my life! Hope you enjoy getting to know Taylor!
What was the best thing you ever ate?
The best thing I ever ate is hands down the Paleo Reese’s Cheesecake with Fauxreo Crust from Vanessa at Clean Eating with a Dirty Mind. When I told my family I wanted to do an all Paleo meal for my birthday a few weeks ago, of course none of them were into it. But I totally won them all over with this dessert! It was SO good. Some of them didn’t even believe it was Paleo.
What was the best thing you ever made?
The best thing I ever made is probably my Paleo Almond Butter S’mores. I have a huge sweet tooth and making Paleo versions of naughty things has become one of my favorite hobbies. Some people don’t like the idea of making desserts out of Paleo-approved ingredients and labeling them as “Paleo,” but I definitely do. Why the heck not? If I can make s’mores out of real foods instead of processed chemicals and sugars, you better believe I’m going to do it! These were a big hit with my family and with my followers. There’s something about making clean versions of naughty things that people freaking love. And I can’t blame them! It gives you the same satisfaction and indulgence factor without the sugar high and ballooning stomach. And let’s be real, no one likes those things.
How did you find Paleo and what lead you to commit?
I started eating Paleo about a year ago when I did my first Whole 30. I am a Type 1 Diabetic, and had been reading up on how Paleo was great for blood sugar control and decided to try it out. Since then, I’ve never looked back. My blood sugars are the best they’ve ever been (I was diagnosed at age 10 and am now 21) since going Paleo and I feel better than I ever have. I turned my blog into a full on Paleo recipe site just about a month or so ago and have been loving everything about it. Coming up with new recipes and seeing people try them and love them is one of the best feelings in the world. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Taylor Made It Paleo and where it might take me!
